Singer-songwriter DÖRTHE DROTHEN impresses on her upcoming sophomore album “Enamoured” with a fascinating blend of Pop and Jazz melodies. The German artist seduces into a world of love and infatuation, whereby each of the ten songs is a melodic testimony to the beauty of being in love. With her soulful music and unbridled passion, DÖRTHE DROTHEN enraptures her audience and leaves a lasting mark on the landscape of contemporary music with her full-length album, due out on 11/08/2024 via Dr. Music Records. “Enamoured” was created in collaboration with producers Joonas Lorenz and Markus ‘Be’ Brachtendorf at Tonstudio Be and was mastered at Düsseldorf’s Skyline Tonfabrik by Kai Blankenberg, who has already refined hits of such illustrious greats as Lady Gaga, Kim Wilde and Aura Dione. The musician relied on the renowned graphic designer Thomas Ewerhard (i.a. Liquido, Ray Wilson, Volbeat) for the appealing album and singles artwork.
DÖRTHE DROTHEN was born and raised in a tranquil small town near Düsseldorf. Music became her lifelong passion at the tender age of 13. With her gentle voice reflecting tales of love and enchantment, the vocalist began penning heartfelt lyrics, delighting audiences far and wide. In 2020, she took a monumental leap in her musical journey, releasing her debut album “Prologue”. Recorded with just her voice and a piano, it poignantly reflects life’s myriad emotions and captivates listeners with its raw vulnerability and soul-stirring narratives. Building on these experiences, DÖRTHE DROTHEN refined her songwriting and devoted herself to the present Jazz Pop album “Enamoured”. With the opener and the first single “Shades Of Your Heart”, she has created a very catchy tune. Where there is sun, there is a shade. It’s about loving every facet of the heart and not being afraid to show them. British videographer Andy Pilkington (i.a. FM, Visionatica, Uriah Heep) produced a charming lyric video perfectly emphasizing the message of this romantic song. Next up is the warm-hearted second single “Making Time” describing the moment when a person enters the room and the sight of whom makes you so happy that you stop what you’re doing to spend time together. DÖRTHE DROTHEN swings easily and lightly here, revealing her lovingly catchy vocal side. The person who inspired the lyrics of “Simple Words” may never know the profound impact those simple words had. In “Do I Need To Be Somewhere”, the fascinatingly graceful singer imagines herself sitting at the beach and listening to the sound of the waves. Without any media or distractions. Just enjoying life and nature. This ravishing ballad is pure deceleration. Delicate piano sounds paired with the meditative voice in interplay with the sound of the sea show that LoFi also works perfectly without electronic sounds. DÖRTHE DROTHEN shines here with a slightly upbeat vibe that invites listeners to tap their feet while enjoying a cheerful break from everyday life. The single “Out Of Sight” describes the state of being enamored and is staged in the music video produced by Toby Wulff with wonderful dance performances. The hit-worthy “Hot Chocolate Mocha Latte” will also be released as a single, which is an invitation to turn your coffee break into a party. This is precisely what the highly danceable song, with its cool beat and rousing vocals, encourages, while the music video, also produced by Toby Wulff, skilfully captures the positive energy of the track.
