Paul Heaton is an English indie pop and alternative rock singer-songwriter froom Cheshire who gained fame with two rock bands that he founded, The Housemartins and Beautiful South, both with whom he had several hit records. He released a solo album titled 'Fat Chance' under the name Biscuit Boy in 2001. As Paul Heaton, he released the album 'The Cross Eyed Rambler' in 2008; it went to number 43 on the UK Albums Chart and 'Acid Country' (2010) reached number 51.

In 2014 he joined with former Beautiful South vocalist Jacqui Abbott for the album 'What Have We Become?', which went to number three on the UK Albums Chart. The track 'D.I.Y.' peaked at number 75 on the UK Singles Chart in 2014. They released two more albums together - 'Wisdom Laughter and Lines' (2015) reached number four on the UK Albums Chart and 'Crooked Calypso' (2017) hit number two. His 2018 album 'The Last King of Pop' went to number ten and another recording with Jacqui Abbott, 'Manchester Calling', was released in 2020.
