Born Ilsey Anna Juber on 17 April 1986 in Los Angeles, California, as the daughter of Laurence Juber, lead guitarist for the band Paul McCartney and Wings, acclaimed singer and songwriter Ilsey was immersed in music from an early age. She kicked her career into gear in 2015 with a co-writing credit on "All Night" by Beyoncé, also writing Robin Schulz's "Headlights" that same year. She achieved a co-writing credit on Mark Ronson's 2018 track "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" featuring Miley Cyrus and won two BMI awards for her work co-writing "Mercy" by Shawn Mendes and "In the Name of Love" by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha, also in 2018. She spent subsequent years building her reputation as an in-demand songwriter, racking up credits for Jimmie Allen and Noah Cyrus (2020's "This is Us"), Kacey Musgraves (2021's "Justified" and "Breadwinner, Lil Nas X (2021's "ONE OF ME" (featuring Elton John), MØ (2022's "Spaceman"), Romy (2023's "Twice"), and many others. She has also contributed both background and lead vocals to a number of songs, including Mark Ronson's 2019 track "Late Night Feelings" featuring Lykke Li, Miley Cyrus's 2020 track "Midnight Sky" and many others.
