Keith Thornton is a prolific American rap artist known for his arcane and complex lyrics who has released a great number of recordings under the names of Kool Keith and Dr. Octagon. He first gained attention with Ultramagnetic MCs on their 1988 debut album 'Critical Breakdown' and follow-ups 'Funk Your Head Up' and 'The Four Horsemen' and then made his first solo appearance as Dr. Octagon on the album 'Dr. Octagonecologyst' in 1996.
He released 'Sex Style' as Kool Keith in 1997 and other albums followed including 'Black Elvis/Lost in Space' (1999), 'Matthew' (2000), 'Spankmaster' (2001) and 'The Lost Masters' (2003). 'The Return of Dr. Octagon' came out in 2004 but then he returned to the name of Kool Keith for several more releases. He collaborated with other artists on several albums including 'Kool Keith Presents Tashan Dorrsett' (2009) and 'Kool Keith & Big Sche Eastwood - Magnetic Pimp Force Field' (2013). In 2016, he produced a third Tashan Dorrsett album plus 'Feature Magnetic' and the fourth in a series titled 'Total Orgasm 4'.
