Collie Herb plays music as if Switzerland was on a palm beach. Texts in swiss dialect, carried by sounds from overseas. His songs are sometimes light-footed and colorful, sometimes thoughtful and poetic, but always compelling. In nearly ten years, he has established himself and his powerful mix of urban reggae, dancehall and rap in the local music world. Having grown up with the sound system culture, the stage is his home, so set it on fire his duty.
Anyone who experiences Collie Herb live and feels his enormous stage presence is entertained by an entertainer who fascinates both as a singer and as a rapper. Thanks to charisma, he snaps the smiles in the audience in the first song. Whether with a band or DJ, any purist claims should stay at home. You have to bring with you dance-mad legs - because only nodding or foot teetering, is not enough in this music by far.
Collie Herb follows his love for music consistently and committed, which has long since been fruitful. Nationally, he established his name in the reggae scene before his work was honored in 2013 by Kt. Solothurn with the "Prize for Music". In the same year his debut album "Authentic" was released. And even abroad, he was able to set the first exclamation mark despite texts in dialect. In 2012 he was on the stage of "Rototom Sunsplash", Europe's largest reggae festival in Spain. In 2014, he prevailed against hundreds of competitors at the "European Reggae Contest", until he was able to impress the audience in the semi-finals in Berlin and in the final in Bordeaux. Back in Switzerland, he plays in the opening act of world stars like Shaggy or Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, the son of Bob Marley.
It's not Collie Herb's way to comfortably sit down and rest on the set milestones. In autumn 2016, he released his second album "Bambus", which climbed to # 24 on the official Swiss album charts and got airplay on various radio stations. He toured with the new album through the country and abroad and diligently released new singles.
But because the day has more hours than you can spend with gigs, promo dates or rehearsals, Collie Herb continues to be diligent. He is going to Paris for a few months in the summer of 2018 and is working on upcoming projects in the "Cité Internationale des Arts". And so it does not matter if you want to celebrate the weekend with live music or need new material for the playlist: You can rely on Collie Herb again this year!
