Big Boogie is a hip-hop artist from Memphis – and by way of Louisiana – who has quickly evolved into a rising star in the music industry. Boogie first began to gravitate toward music in high school, when he started playing the drums for his high school band. It eventually sparked his interest in becoming an artist and, by 2016, he started to release projects and build a local buzz in Memphis. His smooth yet raspy vocals eventually landed on Yo Gotti’s radar, prompting the Memphis icon and record executive to invite Boogie to perform at his annual Birthday Bash concert at FedEx Forum in 2018 and again in 2019 and get live performance experience. Over the years, Boogie released projects such as Definition of Pain, Pain on Paper and Final Chapter that ultimately paved that for Gotti to sign the budding star to his CMG record label. Boogie’s CMG signing also coincided with the release of his mixtape, Final Nightmare, in December 2020 that featured guest appearances from Gotti, Moneybagg Yo and Dej Loaf. Since then, Big Boogie has been building momentum, starting when he was tapped by the Memphis Grizzlies to be the halftime performer at their 2021-22 home opener at the FedEx Forum against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He continued his hot streak in 2022, releasing his UNDERRATED project that generated over 200 million streams. Boogie shined alongside his labelmates on the CMG compilation album, Gangsta Art, with standout songs like “KeKe” and “Buss Down.”
