Marcelo Sant'Anna has a degree in Functional Harmony and Guitar since 1995 from Escola de Música Musiarte (Rio de Janeiro-RJ) and studied with Isidoro Kutno (Berklee College of Music), Oren Perlin (Musicians Institute GIT Los Angeles), and José Staneck (Escola Nacional de Música-RJ), in addition to masterclasses with Hermeto Pascoal, Frank Gambale, Nando Reis, Nelson Faria, Marcos Suzano, Heitor TP, and Ernie Watts. As a vocalist and guitarist he has acted in authored bands such as Carne de Pescoço and Vox Pop, in blues bands such as Talladega Trio, and instrumentals such as Jazz Brasileiro led by drummer Jorge Casagrande, among other side projects, and also as a supporting musician . He is a multi-instrumentalist and researcher in the history of music and various instruments such as vintage synthesizers. He also works as a soundtrack producer for audiovisual art projects and conceptual films. Several artists are his sources of inspiration, such as: Beatles, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Robben Ford, Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Bowie, Jack White, Mutantes, and Lô Borges.
