Founder of The English Concert in 1972, harpsichordist and conductor Trevor Pinnock is one of the leading lights of Baroque music, which he continues to promote throughout the world. A tireless propagator and teacher, this specialist in Bach, Rameau, Haydn, Handel, Purcell, Vivaldi and Mozart made his debut on the harpsichord at the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, founded by Neville Marriner, before creating his own orchestra, which he conducted until 2003. Guest conductor of numerous orchestras in Europe and the United States, Trevor Pinnock has made a number of recordings that have contributed to the rediscovery of the Baroque spirit at the end of the 20th century. Also founder of The Classical Band in New York (1989) and the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa (1996-1998), the English conductor went on to lead The European Brandeburg Ensemble (2007), whose performance of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos won a Gramophone Award.
