Swiss rock band Grauzone emerged from the early 1980s music scene. The group consisted of Martin Eicher on guitar and vocals, Marco Repetto on drums, and GT on bass. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Eisbär" and "Raum", featured on the 1980 compilation album Swiss Wave – The Album. These tracks earned significant radio airplay in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. "Eisbär" was released as a single and peaked at number 6 in the Austrian charts and number 12 in the German charts. In 1981, Grauzone recorded their debut album Grauzone at Sunrise Studios, which included notable tracks such as "Moskau/Ein Tanz mit dem Tod" and "Ich lieb sie". The band's unique sound, characterized by minimal wave elements and punk attitude, positioned them as pioneers in the Swiss Wave movement. Despite their commercial success, Grauzone focused on film and studio work rather than touring extensively. By 1982, after releasing four singles and one album, the group disbanded. Post-Grauzone, members pursued various musical projects: Marco Repetto became a notable figure in the techno and ambient scenes, Martin Eicher released the EP Spellbound Lovers in 1988, and Stephan Eicher embarked on a successful solo career.
