Mervin Mayo

Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Mervin Mayo started out singing in a church choir, then took up the piano at the age of 13. After serving as a police officer and school liaison officer, he became a pastor, dividing his time between worship ministry and music. In 2009, he released a debut album entitled Don't Ever Let Me Fall, before achieving viral success with the track "I Need Your Lord", produced by Rio Bridges and God's Glory Music Group. He followed this up with the 2021 single "Bow Down", which was also a hit on music platforms. These successes led to the signing of a contract with the Tyscot Records/Warner Bros. Music label, under which the single "The Best Friend" was released in 2022 and the album God Did It, with the title track of the same name, in 2024. In 2026, "The Air I Breathe " reached number 29 on the Top 30 Gospel Airplay chart.
