San Francisco-based producer Iguazúl (born Loïc Maestracci) exotic, smooth, and soulfully tinged dance floor sound combines electro and funk with Brazilian and Latin rhythms in a retro-modern style. Iguazúl has been deeply influenced by his travels through world cities whose music traditions are important parts of their heritage: Rio, Paris, London, New Orleans, and Los Angeles, among them. His music style blends electric pianos, electronic synths, and drum machines with organic voices and live percussion. His high-track debut EP, Electro Funk Samba, was issued in early 2016.
One of his recent releases include the mellow psychedelic beat science track “The Less You Try, The More You Stand Out”. Taking a cue from Zero 7, Air or Massive Attack, the track heavily emphasizes imagery and mood by exploring the depth of trip hop, electronica and downtempo.
