In 2007, Daniel Marhely started working on a project to make it easier for his friends to enjoy music.

Working initially from his kitchen in Paris, Daniel soon recognized the potential of his idea and gathered a small team of like-minded individuals. It didn't take long for investors and music labels to catch on that his vision would change the future of the music industry.


Today Deezer is available in more than 180 countries.


With 73+ million songs, plus podcasts, audiobooks and radio channels, we offer one of the largest audio catalogs out there.

Jeronimo Folgueira

Jeronimo Folgueira

Chief Executive Officer and Director

Jeronimo Folgueira was appointed CEO of Deezer from 1 July, 2021.

Prior to joining Deezer, Jeronimo served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Board of Spark Networks (NYSE: LOV) in Berlin. During that time he led the transformation of Spark Networks through three strategic M&A transactions, quadrupling the size of the company in four years. He also oversaw the company’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange in November 2017. This made him the youngest European CEO on the NYSE at the time....

Jeronimo has also held a number of senior management positions, including at Betfair, Bigpoint and RTL Group. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Navarra.

He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Tio Tech, a Nasdaq listed SPAC that aims to help European unicorns access US capital markets.

Laurent’s main focus at Deezer is delivering shareholder value through efficient financial management and cost optimization. He also ensures that Deezer’s finance and legal teams support the company’s growth strategy in an agile and streamlined way....

Before joining Deezer in 2016, Laurent was a senior member of the investment team at Access Industries, which invested mainly in technology, media and telecommunications. Between 2007 and 2009, Laurent was an Associate in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley. He also has experience working at PWC and Arthur Andersen.

Laurent earned his MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from San José State University.

Émilie Duquenne

Émilie defines and sets a global people strategy to support the company’s growing needs. She oversees talent acquisition, talent development, employee engagement, HR Operations and Internal Communications....

She also looks after the wellbeing of over 600 employees worldwide. Prior to Deezer, Émilie worked at Tesla as the EMEA HR lead for Sales, looking after the HR business strategy. She got her start at Tesla as the Senior HR Manager in France and was quickly promoted to EMEA HR Lead. During her time at Tesla, she successfully oversaw the redesign of the marketing and sales structure of over 1000 people in 17 countries. This resulted in a dramatic increase in sales.

Émilie also worked as a Talent Acquisition Director at L’Oréal for 15 years, where she boosted recruitment in France and the UK by creating a talent incubator model and featured employees as brand ambassadors. She also spearheaded a new performance appraisal program for the company.

Émilie is a graduate from ESSEC School of Management.

Louis-Alexis de Gemini

Chief Marketing Officer

Louis-Alexis de Gemini is the Chief Marketing Officer at Deezer, where he leads the company’s global marketing strategy. He oversees all of Deezer’s market research, brand, digital marketing, PR & communications and social media....

Prior to his current role, Louis-Alexis was the CEO of Deezer France from 2015 - July 2021, where he positioned Deezer as a market leader. He also spearheaded the company’s entry into non-music content, by supporting the integration of podcasts worldwide.

Louis-Alexis is an innovative media specialist. He is most famous for creating the TV channel M6 Music and launching the first reality TV show in France: Loft Story. He also managed the music programming of M6 channel and launched the broadcast of reality music shows Popstars and Nouvelle Star (France Pop idol), as well as The Bachelor and Pékin Express franchises. Most recently he created Beauty Academy, in partnership with Sephora and LVMH, the first French television show to break into prime time in China.

He holds a Master’s Degree from HEC School of Management and attended the University of Columbia as part of HEC International Management Program (PIM). He was also part of the RTL Group Executive Program at Harvard Business School.

Matthieu Gorvan

Chief Product & Technology Officer

Matthieu develops and implements new technologies and solutions to create the most personalized music experience for Deezer users around the world. He also manages all of Deezer’s development teams, including product design....

Matthieu is a Deezer veteran, having first joined Deezer as the Lead Mobile Engineer in 2009. He was promoted to Head of Mobile Department, and later as VP Engineering before being named Chief Product & Technology Officer in 2017.

Prior to Deezer, Matthieu was an engineer in the Mobile Video Game industry. He holds a degree in Computer Science from The Brest National School of Engineering.

Aurélien Hérault

Chief Innovation Officer

Aurélien leads the R&D team and makes sure Deezer is ahead of the curve with innovative products and features. Using research, analysis and data insights, Aurélien has been instrumental in developing and refining Deezer’s signature Flow algorithm. He is also responsible for looking after search and recommendations, as well as audiobooks....

Aurélien joined Deezer as the Lead Software Engineer when the company first officially launched in 2007 and has since held several positions within the company, including VP Product, VP Engineering, VP Research and Development and VP Technology and Innovation.

Aurélien previously taught coding languages and technical architecture at Gobelins School of Visual Communication in Paris and has a University Diploma in Multimedia & Networks, Computer and Information Sciences from Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University.

Alexander Holland

Chief Content and Strategy Officer

Alexander manages all content that is available on Deezer. He works directly with labels, artists, rights holders and music industry leaders to ensure that users around the world have the best audio entertainment at their disposal....

Before joining Deezer in 2015, Alexander was the Chief Operating Officer at Antenna Group, the largest media group in Greece, where he oversaw 150m Euro P&L and 1500 employees. During his time at Antenna Group, he also served as Acting Managing Director of Antenna TV, as well as CEO & President of Daphne publishing.

Prior to Antenna Group, Alexander was the Chief of Staff at Viasat Broadcasting. He also has experience as the Head of Content, Acquisition, Brand and Promotion at Viasat Broadcasting Ltd, where he was responsible for content, branding and on-air promotion across all channels within the Viasat Group. He was also a member of the Management Board of Modern Times Group, and the Managing Director of CineNova Movie Channel, as well as CEO of Pay TV Channels at Modern Times Group.

Alexander earned his Master’s Degree in Economics from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Laurence Miall-d'Aout

Laurence is responsible for developing and executing Deezer’s global commercial strategy to drive further growth and secure B2B opportunities around the world....

Within her role, she manages all new and existing global partnerships, business development and B2B account management.

Laurence has over 20 years of professional experience in partnership strategies, ad monetization, and business growth in the media and entertainment industry.

Prior to Deezer, Laurence worked at Liberty Global as the VP of Advanced Data & Advertising, where she was responsible for launching new data driven advertising models. She was the CEO of TV Beat, and also has experience as Commercial Director of TV at TalkTalk, where she acted as a Board Member in their partnership with YouView. Before that, Laurence spent 10 years across multiple roles at Modern Times Group in the UK.

Laurence earned her MBA from INSEAD and her Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in BBA, Corporate Finance, from EDHEC Business School in France.
