How To Make Money with Guns | Episode 14
It’s been a month since the last episode and I want to give you an update and some personal information about myself so that you know what is going on.     How to make money with guns  The title may be a little on the click bait type side of things but I am going to share actually some things I have seen or tried and see if you know of someone that has done it too.  There is nothing new under the sun and maybe you can do a better job at it.   I want to really thank the people that have followed this show for more than a decade and those that support it through monthly donations through  I know its not the best platform for supporting a show but you have been faithful and it helps me. I also want to thank you for supporting me personally through my recent  struggle and even those that have donated through GoFundme.  My wife will freak out when she finds out we had a campaign but despite my reservations, it was a Godsend.  That first bill in February could have taken me out.     If you want to contribute to the family gofundme thing for my wife.   I am paying $400 a day for her right now.   This week I shared that I am going through depression.  It is only temporary.  I am learning and working through it. I created a new YouTube channel to help people called     I'm here to let you know that you matter.    I heard that one person can change your life. I don't know if I'm that one for you but together we can make a difference. There is a lot going on right now and sometimes one person gets lost in the noise. I have protected people all my life. I'm an veteran of many groups that experience depression, trauma and loss on a regular basis; military, law enforcement, and clergy.  I’d appreciate it if you’d help me make Spoon a thing.   I started a new YouTube channel for Spoon.  Will you help me reach my first 100 subscribers?   Here’s the national hotline for suicide prevention 1-800-273-8255 for the record, if you need it.       Again, thanks.  I appreciate you more than you know.  Working on getting back to full strength.  Those that know the words of prayer, throw one up for me will ya?     Shalom baby,   Kenn  Https:// 240-200-0713

Saving | Episode 11
Prior Proper Planning Pays Off   Saving money in the shooting sports Update on my wife: Not A Sermon     Unless you are wealthy, recreationally shooting is expensive.  The firearm can cost $400-$4500.  Range time for indoor ranges is $15-25 an hour.  Ammunition, targets, and safety equipment vary. If you are on a budget, good with your money or want to save a few dollars here are some tips that will help you do that.  This will be the first in a series, I will provide for you from time to time.  You don’t like blowing money do you?  Firearms, pistols in particular are almost impulse buys.  They are advertised by movies, screen heroes and the cool kids wherever they are these days.      Range fees have stayed the same for the most part but there are so many new shooters now that it is now unheard of to have an hour wait to use an indoor range.  Believe it or not, that wasn’t the case just a few years ago.    Ammunition increased during the Trump years and hasn’t returned to normal.  Your gun food is important.  Back in the day, when firearm tolerances varied and you had to get gunsmiths to “work” out the rough edges and give love to a handgun just so that it was consistent, ammunition was crucial.  Not all guns worked well with all the brands and grades of ammunition available.  It is a little less the case now although you will find out that with practice, there is some ammo that works best for you.  Different loads, bullet weights, etc. in your firearm do different things when you are behind it.  You won’t know that from the box or necessarily from the recommendation from your shooting partner.  Depending on your shooting schedule, goals, type of firearm, I suggest you buy your ammo in bulk. I’m talking about 1000 rounds of practice ammo.  And 100 rounds of self-defense stuff.    At the onset, 1000 rounds seems like a lot but if you are shooting a semi-auto handgun that has a ten round magazine because you live in one of THOSE states like I do. And you have three magazine that’s 30 rounds.  They sell the good stuff at 25 rds a box typically so you might pay $21-49.00 a box of 25.   Practice ammo- seller & ballot, Winchester, magtech, blazer, Remington, federal     Ear Pro, eye pro and targets,   Invest in a range bag   an Emergency Personal Injury Kit (EPIK)  a rapid-application tourniquet.  eye and ear protection.  a notebook and pen (for recording your rounds fired and perhaps notes on your training and performance)  a cloth for wiping down your firearm and magazines after training.    If you get tired, learn to rest, not quit.Success if being able to continue just one more time after failing or falling. As crappy as things are for you right now, they will be the good old days for your kids, nieces and nephews.Somebody.   This is a little update on the situation.  If you have been following me for the past ten months you know that my wife had a brain tumor removed that incapacitated her. The family has been devastated.  Last Friday, after recovering from being bedridden, and having pneumonia (twice), two blood clots, and fungal meningitis, she had surgery to relieve pressure in her brain.  God clicked the switch and she is talking again.    She’s almost 100% back mentally.  She wants to eat and was able to swallow water.  It’s amazing and so God!    Make sure you have health benefits. Get long term care insurance. Have someone that will advocate for you if you can’t speak.   Visit the sick. Believe and worship God. He is worthy! Thank you for your prayers and friendship.    Thank you for supporting us.     Your friend and brother from another mother, Kenn Sponsored by:

Will You Save Mark Bressner? | Episode 4
This week I want to share a story of a cop now in jail for tasing a guy in Detroit.  It’s tough to be a police (Anything) these days.  No respect, no love, no chance to excel at your job in the current culture.  Damned by most.  I am hoping you’re different.  I am hoping you understand how the system works and will listen to the story of a guy named Mark Bressner.   He isn’t alone.  Sometimes it’s worse than jail. A Baltimore Police officer who was shot while sitting in her patrol car Christmas Eve has died , according to the Baltimore Police Department. An off-duty New York City Police Department officer was shot in the head while sleeping in his car on New Year's Day. This episode has foul language from a movie in it.  NOT SAFE FOR KIDS or WORK. How to Put The Front Sight on Your Life | Episode 3
How far could you go if you were able to focus your life like you do your firearm? The skills are  the same in some ways. I was watching the Matrix for like the 47th time and remembered all the themes this one movie had.  Remember the Matrix?  The original one, not that configuration of old overly done brain saturated efx. One of the themes was that you have to make your own choices in this world or you are in the matrix - free your mind    Indulge me this week as I metaphorically hit you with the proposition that you can do better this year with some personal focus.  The same skills you use to shoot. What is the best gun for a woman?
What is the Best Gun for A Woman?   Happy New Year.  This episode is to make you think.   What is the best gun for a woman/female? Fascism  First Amendment Beware of the mob mentality/ group think. I got off topic a little talking about the PC terms of woman or female.  It does relate though to the topic.  I am not trying to offend or trigger you, if this is a touch point but I want to be honest with who I am.   I remember the days when firearms instructors would tell women what type of firearms they thought best. These guys would not do well In todays gun culture.  It was the culture to be sexist, homophobic, and/or racist.   While I am getting my self in all kinds of trouble let me say this unapologetically that I tip my hat, applaud and appreciate all the women, Gay, Lesbian and Trans friends that are around my age plus or minus 20 years that are in the gun movement.  You have managed to get proficient and survive in a culture I didn’t realize was as bad as it was.  As a person of color, a black guy, negro, afro American, African American, black not Hispanic - I dealt with color and race issues.  I can’t fathom adding that to gender equality and sexual preference too.  Some times, my background, and the legacy of those instructors and living creep into my verbiage.  I apologize in advance. So what is the best handgun for a female?  The one she owns and learns how to use the best.   Kenn waxes on physics for a bit.    As gun rights activist and people of varying groups, I want you to think about why you do things.  I want you to think about the word fascism, group think, herd mentality and how it relates to politics and social media today. Thank you for subscribing and following. Thank you for supporting this podcast and this brother.

Grandma Shot the Tree Again | Episode 1
Rebranding the show.  This is episode 1.     Talking this week about my grandmother, celebratory gunfire (don’t do it) and Watch Night service in the African American tradition.       After 14 years of podcasting this show, I didn’t want it to “podfade” just because I am going through a tough time.  I decided with the support of some of you to “do me” which was my suggestion of changing the show, cancelling some of the others I have and combining them into this one the flag ship podcast.  I will always be the Black Man With A Gun (trademarked), and still be pro-gun.  I am no longer alone in the universe though.  There are a bunch of young guns that never even heard of me spouting stuff on social media.  It’s ok.  I had my turn.  Now I seek to continue to motivate, inspire, support and encourage you.  I want this to remain a fun pro-gun variety show like no other.  With your help we will.     The biggest mistake most people will make is believing they have TIME!   Please consider becoming a patron of the show.  Http://      Thanking you for being a part of my extended family.  If you want to contribute to the family gofundme thing for my wife.      Rev. Hoping you remember some of the tips and things he mentioned from your training.  And maybe realizing you need more “real stuff” in your life and less BS.  No matter if you shoot recreationally, competitively, professionally or one day defensively, “fast is fine but accuracy is final.” Marksmanship  Safety reminders. Guns and Weed | episode 684
Weed   Where are you on the smoking weed and gun ownership conversation / argument?  If it is not your thing, you can skip this episode.  This week I am just talking about guns and weed.  I am not a consumer of marijuana but I learned some stuff I want to share with those that do.   Under federal law, Americans are forced to choose between having a medical marijuana card or giving up their inalienable right to bear arms.  It’s a federal felony to own a gun and use marijuana. Moreover, using marijuana medically or recreationally automatically makes the purchase, ownership, and transfer of guns a high-level federal violation with penalties of up to $250,000 fines and ten years in federal prison.    Thank you for supporting me, praying for me,  befriending me on any platform and real life.   Kenn

The Importance of Training - Episode 682
Safety Always treat the gun as loaded. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Always keep the gun unloaded until you are ready to use it. Never point the gun at anything you don't intend to destroy. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it. Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the gun you are using. Always use proper Ammunition. Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before loading and shooting. If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, hold your shooting position for several seconds; then with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, carefully unload the gun. Don't rely on the gun's safety to keep it from firing. Be aware of your surroundings when handling guns so you don't trip or lose your balance and accidentally point and/or fire the gun at anyone or anything.   Beware of the BS that is big in our community. Train to live.
