Mannequin Death Squad is an instrument swapping, two-piece, girl and boy, indie rock/punk band from Australia. The pair have toured extensively since their inception in 2016, having shared the stage with many including: Suicidal Tendencies (USA), NENA (DE), SOFT PLAY (SLAVES) (UK), Frenzal Rhomb (AUS), British India (AUS) and WAAX (AUS) to name a few.
The power duo have recently returned from the northern hemisphere, playing festivals and club shows across the UK, Europe and India. 21 dates in total throughout Europe featured an appearance at Rebellion Festival (UK), a supporting slot for NENA and an onslaught of incendiary performances across capital cities such as Berlin, Paris, London and more. The tour was concluded with a headline set at Ziro Festival in the scenic foothills of the Himalayas in Aranachal Pradesh, India.
The band’s latest single “Monsters” has garnered some serious press, being featured in Rolling Stone (IN), shared on Spotify’s “All New Rock”, “Fresh Finds” and “Fresh Finds AU/NZ” editorial playlists as well as being listed in the KERRANG! Chart (UK). The track was spun on Triple J (AUS) as well as various radio stations across the world.
The fiercely independent duo has left a trail of enthusiastic and passionate fans in their wake. Mixing catchy pop melodies with ferocious punk rock riffs, and an infectiously energetic live show.
Having only released their long-awaited debut album “Super Mental Psycho” last year, the band have announced their sophomore album will be released in early 2024. “Super Mental Psycho” was co-produced with legendary Australian producer Mark Opitz (AC/DC, INXS, The Angels, Divinyls).
Capping off the year with a stellar performance at SXSW Sydney, and being handpicked by Mike Muir to support Sucidal Tendenices on their Australian Tour; Mannequin Death Squad is gearing up for a momentous 2024. They have plans to release their second album as well as tour USA, Europe, Australia and Japan.
