Simone Faraci is a Sicilian musician and composer based in Bologna. After studying and working in the field of classical music, since 2015 he has dedicated himself exclusively to research in the electronic music and improvisation field, studying Electronic Music at the Conservatory of Bologna.
He mainly works on improvisation, music for dance, soundscape and didactics. In 2017 Taukay published his acousmatic composition Di Piccole Forze and in 2019 he made Un Giardino improvviso, commissioned by Tempo Reale. As an improviser he has played with Francesco Giomi and Alvin Curran, and collaborates permanently with TREE (Tempo Reale Electroacoustic Ensemble).
He is currently developing his research on electroacoustic improvisation with Minus, a Bologna-based collective of which he is a founding member. With Minus he has played in several festivals including Tempo Reale Festival and Bologna Modern and has to his credit the release of the record Sintagmi. Since March 2019 he has been the coordinator of Tempo Reale's educational activities.
