Lesiem was a German musical project formed in 1999 by producers Sven Meisel and Alex Wende. Their music blended elements of rock, pop, and electronic music with Gregorian chant and choral repertoire. They released their debut studio album, Mystic Spirit Voices (2000), which reached number 7 on the Billboard New Age Albums chart following its United States release. They followed this with the album Chapter 2 (2001), which was titled Illumination (2003) for the American market and peaked at number 7 on the same chart. The duo released the pop-opera Times (2003), known as Auracle (2004) in the United States, which featured the single “Caritas” (2002) with singer Maggie Reilly. Their other singles include “Fundamentum” (2000) and “Africa” (2000). The project produced a medley for the Cologne Lights in 2013 before becoming inactive. Meisel died in 2016.
