Blending electronic, soul, and folk influences, Becca James crafts a unique soundscape as a spiritual alt-pop artist and songwriter. Known for her evocative vocals and introspective lyricism, her collaboration with LA-based producer Soulplusmind, Can't Stop My Shine, secured a spot in the Netflix series Wellmania, starring Celeste Barber.
Released across the full moon, her artist project harnesses this powerful astrological energy to reflect the healing themes of the music. Her debut single, One, from the three-track collection Trust the Season, earned a spot on BBC Newcastle's Introducing playlist in July. The follow-up track, Beauty, garnered Spotify editorial support on the 'Alternative Future' playlist. The EP's journey culminated with Hold You Close on September 29, 2023.
In 2024, Becca captivated audiences with If You're Not Home, a collaboration with Mark Stoney, released on February 24th. Her year included two mini-tours in spring & autumn, featuring a sold-out headline show at The Globe in Newcastle for International Women’s Day, appearances at New Music Monday hosted by Jodie Bryant, alongside performances at the Global Youth Awards and Camden Chapel. In the summer, James co-hosted & performed live during workshops at Lindisfarne Festival's healing tents.
Looking ahead to 2025, Becca has signed with London-based YR Records to embark on a deeply personal new project centred on trauma healing, promising another transformative chapter in her artistic journey.
