السيرة الذاتية

Bio: Jason Gaisie, aka “Pappy Kojo” was born on 13th February 1989 to parents Kofi Badu and Rosemond Gaisie. He was born and raised in Takoradi, in the Western Region. He attended Ridge International School up until 2004, where he left for Italy to be with his mother. Pappy Kojo showed his interest and love for music at an early age. He took part in locally organized rap shows where he would rap to Obrafour, Tic Tac, Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya etc. His biggest musical influences however are Obrafour, Lil Wayne, The Shady Aftermath Camp and Michael Jackson. After leaving Ghana for Italy in 2004, his love for rap music grew even greater. He began covering popular songs and posting them on his YouTube channel. Around the same time, he began recording his own material with some Italian music producers and Ghanaian based music producers. This created a little buzz for the artist. Things really kicked off for him in the latter part of 2014 when he collaborated on a smash hit record titled Wave with Ghanaian superstar Joey B. Pappy then followed up with his first official single ‘Realer No’, also featuring Joey B, which has been making waves ever since its release. He performed at the Big Brother finale with Joey B. He was nominated thrice at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards and won an award for the Hip-Hop Song of the year - Realer No. He has also been nominated for the Best Newcomer in Africa for the AFRIMMA Awards. He has released 6 singles since then. Ay3 Late, 2 Raw ft Edem, Awo’a, Van Damme ft Akitiwrowro, Nyame Bra and Nana Ama. He took a brief hiatus from releasing any music to focus on the development of his artform and the rejuvenation of his energy from the end of 2016 until August 2017. He marked his return with the release of a single M’Akoma. The song shows an evolution in Pappy Kojo’s sound and style. He has an EP scheduled for release in late 2017 and has everyone wondering what he’ll do next with his music and style. Things are looking up for Pappy as he has his eyes firmly set on establishing himself as a global artist.
