David "Honeyboy" Edwards, born on June 28, 1915, in Shaw, Mississippi, was an American delta blues guitarist and singer. He learned to play music from his father and began traveling with Big Joe Williams at 14. In 1942, folklorist Alan Lomax recorded Edwards for the Library of Congress. His first commercial recording came in 1951 with "Who May Be Your Regular Be" under the name Mr. Honey. Throughout the 1970s and beyond, Edwards released several albums including I've Been Around (1978) and Old Friends Together for the First Time (1981). He collaborated with notable musicians such as Robert Johnson and Charley Patton. In 2008, he won a Grammy Award for the album Last of the Great Mississippi Delta Bluesmen: Live In Dallas (2007). Edwards also received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. He passed away on August 29, 2011.
