Sleipnir is the pseudonym of Marco Bartsch (born Laszcz) and the name of the German rock band he leads. The group originated from Verl, where Bartsch had been active in the right-wing music scene since 1988. Sleipnir began as a solo project by Bartsch but evolved into a three-member band around 1998, taking its name from Odin's eight-legged horse Sleipnir in Norse mythology. The band gained prominence with their debut album Mein Bester Kamerad (1996), which was later indexed due to controversial content. Notable releases include Wunderbare Jahre and Ein Teil Von Mir, both released in 2002. Sleipnir's music often incorporated themes from Nordic mythology, friendship, and right-wing ideology. The band performed extensively across Germany and Europe, including notable appearances at the Rock Against Foreign Infiltration concert in Thuringia in 2017. Their song "Rebellion" became a well-known track within the right-wing scene.
