Cable is an American band formed in 1994 in Rockville, Connecticut. The founding lineup consisted of guitarist and vocalist Randy Larsen, drummer Vic Szalaj, guitarist Matt Becker, and bassist Jeff Caxide. Under this lineup, they released a demo cassette (1994) and a split 7-inch with Malcom's Lost (1995). The band released its debut studio album, Variable Speed Drive (1996), on Doghouse Records, followed by Gutter Queen (1999) on Hydra Head Records. During this period, they performed on tours with bands including Neurosis and Today Is the Day. Following lineup changes, the band released Northern Failures (2001), the EP Skyhorse Jams (2001), and the studio albums Never Trust a Gemini (2003) and Pigs Never Fly (2004). After performing a show at CBGB on December 18, 2005, the band disbanded. Cable reformed in 2008, reissued Variable Speed Drive (2008), and released the album The Failed Convict (2009) on The End Records. They also issued the studio album Take the Stairs to Hell (2019).
