Moscow City Symphony — Russian Philharmonic is a Russian symphonic ensemble based in Moscow. Established in 2000 by the Moscow City Government, the group is the resident orchestra at the Moscow International House of Music. The ensemble's principal conductors have included Alexander Vedernikov (until 2004) and Maxim Fedotov (2006–2011). Recordings of the orchestra have been released through labels including Deutsche Grammophon and Naxos Records. Their recording history featured the studio albums Tchaikovsky: Ballet Suites (1996) and Russian Cinema Music (1997). The ensemble subsequently issued the recordings Alla Pavlova: Symphony No. 1, Symphony No. 3 (2003) and Khachaturian: Cello Concerto / Concerto-Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra. In 1991, the group received the Osaka Prefecture Cultural Prize.
