Def Con Dos is a Spanish rap metal band based in Madrid. Formed in 1989, the group was founded by singer César Strawberry and producer Julián Hernández. The ensemble originally performed under the name Freddy Krueger y los Masters del Universo. Their early recordings included the demo tape Primer Asalto (1989) and the EP Segundo Asalto (1989). In 1991, the band issued the album Tercer Asalto. The group achieved wider recognition after recording the main themes for the films Acción mutante (1993) and El día de la bestia (1995), both directed by Álex de la Iglesia. Their 1994 studio album, Armas pal pueblo, was the first record in Spain to feature a Spanish-language version of the explicit lyrics advisory label. The ensemble disbanded in 1999 but resumed activity in 2004. Their subsequent recordings included the albums Recargando (2004), Hipotécate Tú (2009) and España es idiota (2013). In 2020, the Spanish Constitutional Court revoked a previous sentence against Strawberry regarding social media remarks, ruling they were protected under freedom of speech.
