Dark the Suns, a Finnish gothic metal band, was founded in 2005 by Ojala as a solo project. His early demo gained local media attention, leading to the formation of a full band after Ojala moved to Jyväskylä. Dark the Suns signed with Firebox Records and released their debut album In Darkness Comes Beauty in 2007. Their follow-up EP, The Dead End, reached number 16 on the Finnish single charts in 2008. The band continued to release albums including All Ends in Silence (2009) and Sleepwalking in a Nightmare (2010). The band disbanded in 2013 but reunited in 2020.
