Akasha, an English electronic music duo comprising Charlie Casey and Damian Hand, was formed in 1994 in Brixton, London. Their initial breakthrough came with the release of their first track on a DJ Bizzniss EP via Payday Recordings, which led to the Jazadelica EP (1995) under Wall of Sound. Akasha's debut album, Cinematique, was released in 1998 and featured guest appearances from Neneh Cherry and Maxi Jazz. The duo toured extensively across Europe, including Belgium, France, and Germany. In 1999, all tracks on Cinematique were remixed and released as a separate album. Akasha has collaborated with various artists such as Lemon Jelly, Groove Armada, Art of Noise, and Jerry Dammers' Spatial AKA Orchestra. Their subsequent albums include Love Philtre Magick (2003) and Hail the Sun (2015), which featured vocal contributions from Sarah Cracknell of St Etienne, Heidi Vogel, and Anita Lipnicka.
