Ladri di Biciclette were an Italian funk and rhythm and blues ensemble from Carpi active between 1984 and 1994. The group was founded by students of the Verona Conservatory including Paolo Belli and Enrico Prandi. They achieved professional recognition at the Sanremo Music Festival (1989) with the eponymous track “Ladri di Biciclette” (1989). Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Ladri di Biciclette (1989), which featured the track “Dr. Jazz & Mr. Funk” (1989) and was certified gold for sales of 150,000 copies. They achieved professional recognition for the track “Sotto questo sole” (1990) with Francesco Baccini, which reached Number 1 on the Italian charts. Their discography includes the studio recordings Figli di un do minore (1991) and Tre (1994). Belli departed the ensemble in 1991. They became inactive in 1994.
