Clarence Bekker, known professionally as CB Milton, was born on 11 April 1968 in Suriname and later established his career in the Netherlands as an electronic music vocalist. After early exposure to dance music, he entered the scene in the early 1990s with the single "It's a Loving Thing", which reached Number 34 on the UK Singles Chart in March 1995 following a remix, marking his breakthrough. In 1995 he released the single "Hold On (If You Believe in Love)", peaking at Number 62 in August, and in 1996 followed up with the album It’s My Loving Thing. Subsequent releases included the albums The Way to Wonderland (1996) and From Here to There (1998), all issued by Byte Records in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2010 he compiled his career highlights in The Best of CB Milton, and in 2012 he appeared on the Playing for Change label, contributing to collaborative tracks such as "Stand by Me" and "Don’t Worry" with other international artists. CB Milton’s work was featured on the Playing for Change DVD released in April 2009, and he performed at the Dutch 5 May Concert in Amsterdam. His catalog remains a reference point for early Dutch electronic dance music, with chart successes in the mid‑1990s and continued recognition through later compilations and collaborative projects.
