Francesca Messina was born on 10 September 1972 in Florence, Italy, and later performed under the stage name Lady Violet. She began her musical journey in the 1990s as a vocalist with the Italian ensemble Jubilee Shouters, where she recorded the album Black & Blue for Sensible Records. During that period she collaborated with various dance projects, notably becoming the frontwoman for the Euro House/Italodance act Lady Violet on the New Music International label. Her breakthrough came with the single "Inside to Outside", which achieved chart success across Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, France, and the United Kingdom, despite being a cover of Limahl's 1986 original. The follow-up single "Beautiful World" peaked at number 19 on the Italian singles chart. In 1999 she released the single "Inside to Outside", and in 2000 she followed with the single "Beautiful World". A later release, the remix album The First Steps of Lady Violet, appeared in 2003. Francesca Messina went on to pursue a career in theatre, later returning to music with new projects in the years that followed. Her legacy endures through these releases and the impact she had on the European dance music scene.
