Thomas Lee Bass, who goes by the name Tommy Lee, is an American drummer best known as a founding member of the hard rock band Mötley Crüe who have had many major hits. He was born in Greece while his father was serving in the United States Army but he grew up in California and began playing drums as a child. He has played on and off with Mötley Crüe over the years, established other groups - Methods of Mayhem; Ozzfest; Rock Star Supernova - and performed with several other acts such as Richard Marx, Ron Zombie and Courtney Love.
His first solo album, 'Never a Dull Moment', went to number 39 on the Billboard 200 in 2002. He released 'Tommyland: The Ride' in 2005 and the track 'Good Times' featuring singer-guitarist Butch Walker reached number 95 on Billboard's Hot 100. The album 'Trans Genres' was released in 2020. He is scheduled to perform with Mötley Crüe across America in 2020 on 'The Stadium Tour' with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
