Drugstore is a British rock group formed in London in 1993 by Isabel Monteiro, born in São Paulo, Brazil, who served as vocalist, songwriter and bassist. The group’s first release, the EP Injection, appeared in October 1995, followed by the single "Nectarine" the same year, establishing their presence in the UK indie scene. In 1998, the duo "Solitary Party Groover" and "Fader" were issued, and the EP Sober was released, marking a period of growing visibility. The group signed with Go! Discs, and subsequent singles climbed the UK charts, earning the title of single of the week. The band toured with Radiohead, Tindersticks and Jeff Buckley, and performed at major festivals including Reading and Glastonbury. After a hiatus beginning in 2002, Drugstore returned in 2009 and released the album Anatomy in 2011 under Rocket Girl, featuring tracks such as "Sweet Chili Girl" and "Standing Still". The group continued to tour and released a best‑of compilation, The Best of Drugstore, in 2013. Their music appeared in several film soundtracks, notably "Superglider" in All Over Me (1997) and "Fader" in Cherry Falls (2000). Drugstore’s career was noted for its consistent output and participation in influential UK rock festivals.
