Elton Antônio de Medeiros, born July 22, 1930, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was a Brazilian composer, singer, music producer, and radio host. At age 17, he began performing as a daytime musician with the Orquestra Juvenil de Estudantes on Rádio Roquette-Pinto while playing trombone at night. He founded the composers' wing at the Aprendizes de Lucas samba school and later frequented the Zicartola restaurant, collaborating with Cartola, Nelson Cavaquinho, Zé Ketti, Ismael Silva, and Paulinho da Viola. These encounters led to the creation of the group A Voz do Morro and the stage show A Rosa de Ouro. His recordings include the collaborative album Samba Na Madrugada (1966) with Paulinho da Viola and his self-titled album Elton Medeiros (1973). He died in Rio de Janeiro on September 4, 2019, at age 89 from pneumonia.
