Regina Marie Cuttita, professionally known as Regina Richards, is an American singer who began her music career in the late 1970s as the frontwoman of the new wave group Regina Richards and Red Hot. The band performed regularly at New York City venues such as CBGB, Max's Kansas City, and Irving Plaza. After signing with A&M Records, the group released the singles “Tyger” and “Don't Want You Back”, followed by the self-titled album Regina Richards and Red Hot (1981). Following the group's dissolution, Richards focused on writing songs and producing demos with former drummer Stephen Bray, which included assisting Madonna with vocal harmonies on early demos. In 1986, Richards co-wrote and recorded “Baby Love” (1986), which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 50 on the UK Singles Chart, marking her only top 40 hit. The single was included on her debut solo album Curiosity (1986), which also featured “Say Goodbye” and the dance track “Beat of Love”. Richards subsequently released the single “Extraordinary Love” (1988), which reached number 11 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, and her final single “Track You Down” (1990).
