Jacqueline Graham, known professionally as Jaki Graham, was born on 15 September 1956 in Birmingham, England. She is a British singer-songwriter of Jamaican descent. In 1983, a session recording for jazz funk band Medium Wave Band led to a deal with EMI Records and the release of her first two solo singles: "Heaven Knows" and "Once More with the Feeling". Her breakthrough came in early 1985 with the duet "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love" featuring David Grant, which reached number five on the UK charts. This was followed by several Top 20 hits, including "Round and Around", "Set Me Free", and "Breaking Away". In 1989, she released her third album From Now On under EMI Records. Later in her career, she joined Paul Hardcastle's group Kiss the Sky and signed with AVEX International in Japan. Her cover of Chaka Khan’s "Ain't Nobody" reached number one on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 1994. She has collaborated with notable artists such as Michael McDonald and Cliff Richard, performing on various tours including the Legends Arena Tour and Soulicious Arena Tour. She received a star on the Birmingham Walk of Stars in October 2012 and an honorary degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 2015 for her contributions to the music industry. She released the album When a Woman Loves in 2018.
