John Royal Wood Nicholson, known professionally as Royal Wood, is a Canadian musician and record producer who began playing piano at age four. Wood released his first EP, The Milkweed EP, in 2002, which garnered critical acclaim. His debut full-length album, Tall Tales, was released in 2004 on Maple Music. In 2007, Wood released A Good Enough Day through Dead Daisy Records in Canada and Rounder Europe internationally. The album featured the singles "A Mirror Without" and "Juliet", which were included in several TV and movie soundtracks. Following this success, Wood embarked on tours with notable Canadian musicians and released subsequent albums, including The Waiting (2010), We Were Born to Glory (2012), and The Burning Bright (2014). His 2016 album, Ghost Light, received positive reviews.
