Gimmel, a Finnish girl group formed in 2002 through the Popstars competition, initially consisted of Jenni Vartiainen, Susanna Korvala, Ushma Karnani, and Jonna Pirinen. After Pirinen's departure, the trio adopted the name Gimmel. Their debut single "Etsit muijaa säätää" was released in 2002, achieving gold and platinum status in Finland and topping the Finnish Singles Chart for four weeks. The band's first album Lentoon, released shortly after, reached Number 1 on the Finnish Albums Chart and became the best-selling album of the year. In 2003, Gimmel won multiple Emma Awards, including New Pop/Rock Artist of the Year and Best-Selling Album of the Year. The band released their second album, Kaksi kertaa enemmän, in 2003 and disbanded in 2004.
