Raphaela Beer, known professionally as Phela, was born in 1989 in Falkenberg, Germany. She is a singer-songwriter and violinist who began playing the violin to accompany her older sister on the piano. Phela's early career included performing as a classical violinist and releasing two CDs with her band Crystal Ocean Shore under Hawkhill Records in 2010 and 2011. After moving to Berlin, she collaborated with Cecil Remmler, Marek Pompetzki, and Paul Neumann at Numarek Studios, recording the song "Lavendel". Phela gained significant exposure with her debut album Seite 24, released in 2015 by Sony Music Entertainment, which included the single "Wieder alleine". She supported artists such as Max Prosa and Andreas Bourani on various tours. She also released her album, Wegweiser, in 2019.
