Alternosfera, a Moldovan alternative rock band from Chișinău, was formed on December 13, 1998. The band's early years were marked by high school rehearsals. Their first concert took place on November 23, 1999, followed by demo recordings in Chișinău (2001) and Bucharest (2002). They released their debut album Orașul 511 in May 2005. Alternosfera's sound evolved to include keyboards as a central element, with lyrics often addressing themes of love, society, and politics. Their music blends influences from the 1980s and 1990s alternative rock scenes. The band has performed extensively in Moldova and abroad, including at the Tuborg festival in Bucharest (2005). Notable albums include Visători cu plumb în ochi (2007), Virgula (2012), and Haosoleum (2015). In 2022, the band relocated to Sibiu, Romania.
