Mystik, born Ghislain Loussingui Diabaka in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo, in 1978, is a French former rapper, record producer, and art therapist. Immigrating to France in 1989 at age 11, he joined the Congolese hip-hop collective Bisso Na Bisso, contributing to their 1999 album Racines. He released his debut solo studio album, Le chant de l'exilé, in 1999, which yielded the hit single “Le fruit défendu” featuring K-Reen, reaching number 15 on the French Singles Chart, alongside the single “Mobebissi” featuring Zao. In 2001, he was nominated alongside Bisso Na Bisso for best group video at the Kora Awards in South Africa, presented by Nelson Mandela. He released his second solo studio album, Naturel Mystik, in 2002, followed by the street CD Gonflé à bloc in 2005, the compilation album Dans les rues de Marseille in 2006, the collector's album Mystikamente Collector in 2008, and his final studio album, Fukushima 8.9, in 2012. Moving to Marseille in 2007, Mystik earned a university diploma as a writing workshop facilitator and retired from hip-hop in the early 2010s to work as an art therapist and trainer at the École de la 2e chance (E2C).
