Cro-Mags is an American hardcore punk and crossover thrash band from New York City. Its debut album, The Age of Quarrel (1986), blended British Oi-punk and thrash metal, which distinguished the group within the New York hardcore scene. The band toured with notable acts such as Motörhead and Megadeth. Following internal conflicts and lineup changes, the group released Best Wishes (1989), Alpha Omega (1992), and Near Death Experience (1993). Disputes between Harley Flanagan and John Joseph led to the band's dissolution in 1994. The group reformed in 1998, subsequently releasing the album Revenge (2000). Legal battles over the band's name persisted for years, resulting in a 2019 agreement where Flanagan kept the rights to the name while Joseph's lineup performed as Cro-Mags JM. In September 2022, Flanagan was awarded sole rights to the trademark, and the group released the EP Don't Give In (2019) and the studio album In the Beginning (2020).
