Jaz Klash is a West meets West collaboration between Brooklyn native, LA based female producer, The Angel and Bristol's More Rockers (Rob Smith of Smith & Mighty and Peter D). The Angel brought the half-time, hip hop and jazzy elements to fuse with More Rocker's bass heavy, jungle rhythms. Together they wrote, arranged and produced the album,"Thru The Haze" in Bristol in 1995. The album includes guest vocals by MC Cokni O'Dire and guest musicians like the legendary keyboardist Brian Auger, saxophonist, flutist Katisse Buckingham, guitarist Louis Russell and keyboardist Greg Cook. "Thru The Haze" preceded many of the jazzy jungle explorations that were to follow from Roni Size Reprazent. The Bristol Drum 'N Bass Remixes EP includes remixes from DJ Die, Suv, and Flynn & Flora, all powerful contributors to the Bristol vibe in their own right. On the Supa Crucial Downtempo Remixes & Rarities, Michael Franti of Spearhead remixed, the song "Thru The Haze" representing the West coast of California. Jaz Klash did a number of dj sets together, which included shows at the 1998 Montreal Jazz Festival.
