Born and raised in London, singer/songwriter Dan Torres moved to Brazil in 2003, and a year later took part in musical reality show “Fama 3” on TV Globo.
After the show he was signed to Warner Records as part of the duo Cidia & Dan, releasing the song “Esse Amor” and later earning a Gold Disc for their live DVD project “Duetos Romanticos”.
As a solo artist, Dan has released two studio albums and has recorded over 20 songs for Brazilian television shows, most notably his version of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” chosen as the opening theme song to prime time soap opera “Império”. In 2016, he released the compilation album “Novelas” with 14 of the tracks especially recorded for the famous tele-novelas.
Dan has toured across Brazil playing some of the most famous music venues including a performance at Rock In Rio, and since 2014 has fronted rock band Dan & The Underdogs, releasing two studio albums and a live DVD at Castle Recording Studios in Nashville.
His work as a songwriter has been the main focus of his career from the beginning and in 2015 he released the single “Everything is Changing," a song that was part of the soundtrack to the film “SOS Mulheres Ao Mar 2," a box office hit in cinemas across Brazil.
In the last few years he has continued to write and record for film and television projects and is currently preparing material for his third solo album due for release in 2021.
