Jessica Jaramillo (choral director, composer, and performer of Latin American music). Born in Seville, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, Jessica grew up surrounded by the notes and chords of the coffee-growing country's folklore and was introduced to music by her father, a singer and performer of Latin American songs that captivated her from an early age. Jessica Jaramillo's music encompasses genres such as Bambuco, Pasillo, and Guabina from Colombia; Tango, Bolero, Chacarreras, Marineras, and Festejos from other countries; as well as pop and tropical music. Jessica has performed on international stages such as the Quinta Vergara International Song Festival in Viña del Mar, Chile; the Cosquín Folklore Festival, and the Sonamos Latinoamérica Festival in Argentina; and has toured Europe and the United States as an ambassador for Colombian and Latin American folklore.
