Skinny Wolf are a singing/songwriting duo named after their beautiful German Shepherd Dog, Greta. They live on Ngunnawal country (Canberra) and record out of their DIY studio/spare bedroom, producing music that spans dreamy folk, indie pop and blues.
Skinny Wolf combine honest storytelling and eclectic instrumentation to create a moody lo-fi groove. Their debut track ‘Fever’ was described as ‘a moody folk mix that has a great spellbinding quality’ by Declan Byrne (Home & Hosed, Triple J), ‘dark and whimsical’ by Nkechi Anele (Roots ‘n All, Triple J) and ‘an intriguing blend of folk-blues roots and indie dream pop that is both quiet and bewitching’ by Vince Leigh (BMA Magazine).
Their latest track ‘Yellow Mountain Bell’ is named after an Endangered Mountain Flower in the Stirling Range (Western Australia), which was severely impacted by the 2019-20 bushfires. Their lyrics reflect their disillusionment with the response to the bushfires and the current biodiversity crisis.
