GOLDEN CHILD

Golden Child are a 10-piece K-pop group formed in Seoul in 2017. In January of that year the company behind the group, Woollim Entertainment, launched W Project to bring up some of its trainees. Among the hopefuls were Joochan, Jangjun, Tag, Daeyeol, Donghyun and Jaeseok. The following May saw the debut of the group that spun out of the project: Golden Child. It comprised Lee Dae-yeol; Y; Lee Jang-jun; Tag; Bae Seung-min; Bong Jae-hyun; Kim Ji-beom; Kim Dong-hyun; Hong Joo-chan; Choi Bo-min and Park Jae-seok. The group's first EP was Gol-cha!, released in August 2017. It proved a hit, making it to number three in the Korean charts. The following January, now minus a member following Jae-sok's departure, the group released the follow-up EP Miracle and repeated the success, peaking at number three on the Korean charts once again but also landing at number 22 in Japan. Later that year they scored yet another number three hit with the EP Wish, and also made the move into acting with the web sitcom Crazy Petty Housemate. In November 2019, Golden Child released their first full-length album, Re-boot, which peaked at number eight in South Korea. The band's full-length follow-up Game Changer arrived two years later, taking in the Take a Leap (2020) and Yes (2021) EPs in between. They went to number seven in South Korea with the Aura EP, released in 2022, and achieved a top ten single with "Crayon" in 2023.
