Biografia

Inglewood, California, rapper Mack 10 (born Dedrick D'Mon Rolison on August 9,1971) rose to fame in the west coast rap scene of the 1990s. His recording debut was the track “Take a Hit” from the soundtrack to the Ice Cube movie Friday. His self-titled 1995 debut album reached number 2 on the R&B chart, and was a top forty album on the Billboard 200. A pair of singles, “Foe Life” and “On Them Thangs”, charted outside the top 40. In 1996 he formed the supergroup Westside Connection with Ice Cube and WC, and they released the album Bow Down. His proper sophomore album, Based on a True Story contained “Backyard Boogie”, which became his biggest hit single so far. 1998’s The Recipe and 2000’s The Paper Route both hit the top 20 on the album chart, and were released on Mack’s personal label, Hoo-Bangin’ Records, named after a track he recorded with Ice Cube for the soundtrack to The Substitute. In 2003 he released Ghetto, Gutter & Gangsta and reunited with Westside Connection for the top 20 album Terrorist Threats. He continued to release new work and featured on tracks from many artists including Insane Clown Possee, DJ Quik, and The Norf.
