Abdel Karim Fall (born on November 28, 1985), better known as Lefa, is a French rapper who jumped into the spotlight as co-founder of controversial hip-hop crew Sexion d’Assaut. Raised in Paris’ 18th arrondissement to a Senegalese jazz musician and a French choreographer, Fall developed a love for hip-hop from a young age, eventually becoming a b-boy during his teenage years. Soon after, he took his first steps as an MC with the group Assonance, which would later become Sexion d'Assaut, an award-winning hip-hop collective that gave Fall his first taste of recognition with the award-winning album L’Apogée (2012). The MC disappeared from the public eye in the following years, only to reappear in 2015 with Monsieur Fall, his studio debut, which peaked at Number 4 on France’s SNEP Chart and quickly obtained gold certification after selling 50,000 copies. The rapper followed up with the mixtape #TMCP (2016) and the highly-anticipated Visionnaire (2017), which spawned the singles “Chaud” and “Solitaire.” Further success ensued with 3 du Mat (2018), a massive gold-winning blockbuster that featured guest appearances by Orelsan, Lomepal, and S.Pri Noir. Towards the end of the decade, the MC extended his autotune-laden streak with Fame (2019) and Famous (2020), a deluxe version of his 2019 album that included the bonus track “Smile” featuring SCH. 2021 saw the release of his fifth album D M N R, which hit Number 24 in France and included the single “Chloroquine.” Preceded by the singles "Mise à jour," "Terrain miné," and "New Life," his fifth double album arrived in 2022 and went to Number 8 in France. Later that year, he also made an appearance on Le Retour de Rois, Sexion d'Assaut's first album in a decade.
