Biografia

Before forming the hip-hop supergroup Mount Westmore in 2020, rappers Snoop Dogg, E-40, Too Short, and Ice Cube all pursued wildly successful careers of their own. Ice Cube played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of West Coast hip-hop during the 1980s as a member of N.W.A., then released a string of platinum-selling albums as a gangsta rap solo artist during the 1990s and beyond. Snoop Dogg also enjoyed multi-platinum success with releases like 1993's Doggystyle and 1998's Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told, while E-40 and Too Short both scored their own handful of hits before releasing the collaborative album History: Mob Music — a Top 10 hit on Billboard's Top Rap Albums chart — in 2012. Plans to expand the duo into a four-piece supergroup of hip-hop heavyweights began taking shape not long after History: Mob Music's release, with the quartet finally assembling its roster in Los Angeles, California, in 2020. The following year, Mount Westmore made its live debut at a boxing match and released its debut single, "Big Subwoofer," that October. In addition to serving as Mount Westmore's first release, "Big Subwoofer" also doubled as the lead single from Snoop Dogg Presents THE ALGORITHM, a collaborative album featuring artists from the past and present roster of the hip-hop label Def Jam.
