MC Rogê, born Roger Souza Gonçalves, is a Brazilian funk artist from Rio de Janeiro who broke into the baile funk scene as a teenager, gaining attention around 2018 with tracks such as “Sento no Bico da Glock” with DJ Gabriel do Borel and MC Lucy, “Toma Toma Tá” and “Coisas da Vida” with DJ Pedro Henrique, which circulated widely on social media and streaming platforms. In 2019 he consolidated that early momentum with the single “Sem Essa de Perder” and a high-profile guest spot on WC no Beat’s “Nossa Que Isso,” alongside Djonga, Karol Conká and MC Rebecca, while a Dennis DJ rework of “Coisas da Vida” appeared on the compilation Dennis Apresenta: Funk Now! Vol. 3. He followed in 2020 with the single “Saquarema,” featuring MC G Talibã, but then stepped back from releasing new music after a dispute with a former manager led to the removal of several of his most successful videos. MC Rogê returned in 2023 under the Hitzada label with the single “Poucas Palavras,” mentored by DJ Rennan da Penha and backed by Sony Music Brasil, before issuing new collaborations in 2025 including “Sem Essa de Perder (Versão Arrocha)” with DJ Pedro Henrique, “De Madrugada Você Me Liga” with FP do Trem Bala, “Ouve o Porradão do Som” with DJ Pedro Henrique and DJ Meek, and the viral single “Toma Botada” with Éo Chapa, which reinforced his status within contemporary Brazilian funk.
