The son of a prison guard, Gavin DeGraw got his big break when his track 'I Don't Want to Be' was chosen as the theme song for the teen TV drama 'One Tree Hill'. He started playing piano at the age of eight, studied at the Berklee College of Music and built up his reputation playing his well-crafted soft rock songs in New York clubs. His first major album 'Chariot' was released in 2003, and it included the hit single 'Follow Through', helped by the novel and highly successful idea of re-recording it the following year as an acoustic album under the title 'Chariot (Stripped)'.
DeGraw cemented this early breakthrough with two more albums 'Gavin DeGraw' (2008) and the raw sound of 'Free' (2009) - recorded in less than two weeks with producer Camus Celli - and he found an enthusiastic audience all over the world. 'Sweeter' was released in 2011 and featured the lead single 'Not Over You', followed by 'Best I Ever Had' in 2015 from his fifth album 'Make a Move'. He released his sixth studio album 'Something Worth Saving' in 2016 and collaborated with country artist Brett Young on his song 'Chapters' in 2018.
