Biografia

Daniela Romo is a Mexican singer, actress, and TV hostess. Born Teresa Presmanes Corona on August 27, 1959, in Mexico City, she was inspired to pursue a career in music by singer Rocío Dúrcal. Daniela Romo's career in entertainment began with stage performances in shows like Gypsy, and she made her film debut at age 17 in La Casa del Pelícano. Her musical journey began with singing backup for Los Hermanos Zavala, leading to her eventual stage performances. In 1983, she met Italian producer Danilo Vaona in Spain, resulting in her self-titled album Daniela Romo under the Hispavox label. Producer Chucho Ferrer noticed her potential and produced her record También Yo (also released as Te Pareces Tanto a Mí in 1985). This album included hit singles like "Mentiras" and "Celos." Her subsequent albums, such as Amor Prohibido in 1984, featured international hits like "Yo No Te Pido la Luna." In 1986, her album Mujer de Todos, Mujer de Nadie included her chart-topping song "De Mí Enamórate," which put her on the map in Mexico and the US. 1989 saw a shift in her musical style with the album Quiero Amanecer con Alguien, moving towards an adult contemporary pop sound. In the 1990s, Daniela Romo continued to record and release albums, signing with Melody/Fonovisa in 1993. Her 2001 album Ave Fénix experimented with electronic music dance beats and processed vocals. Daniela Romo continued to evolve in her career as a musician, TV host, and actress. In 2005, she released Es La Nostalgia, an album of acoustic ballads, and received acclaim for her role in the soap Alborada. She also produced the musical Cabaret in Mexico.
